Every year the Greeley Stampede and it's many
hundreds of volunteers and committee members raise thousands of dollars
as a non-profit corporation. The Stampede concentrates on the support of
education and young people in it's endeavors.
The Stampede Foundation, a 501-(c)3 non-profit,
supports education in Northern Colorado. Since the inception of this
program, the Stampede has given more than $147,100 in scholarships to
Weld and Larimer county high school graduates. The Stampede Foundation
also provides scholarships to young individuals who win various
competitions during the Greeley Stampede upon proof of graduation from
High School. Fifty-seven graduating high school seniors were awarded
over $17,000 in scholarships lin 2007.
In 2008 the Greeley Stampede raised over $50,00
or the non-profit organization supporting education in northern
Colorado. The Greeley Colorado Stampede Committees and volunteers thanks
everyone for being a part of the World’s Largest 4th of July Rodeo &
Western Celebration!
After four days of competition at the Greeley
Stampede, Audra Dobbs, of Grand Junction, has been named the 2009 Miss
Rodeo Colorado. She is the daughter of Ann Martin of Glenwood Springs.
Audra won the categories of both Personality and Appearance. Her reign
will begin January 1, 2009 and she will compete for the title of Miss
Rodeo America 2010 in Las Vegas at the conclusion of her reign. Audra is
presently a teacher in Grand Junction, after graduating from Mesa State
College with honors. Previously she had been named 1st runner-up to 2007
Miss Rodeo Colorado, Amy Fields. She is also a member of the Frontier
Belles Sidesaddle Club and a former Garfield County Fair and Rodeo
Queen.
